Classic or LED lash extensions: which course should you take first?
The difference between classic and LED lash extensions, who each technique suits and why most artists start with classic.

Both techniques give a natural, lasting result, and both are in demand. The difference is in the adhesive and in how the work is done.
Classic lash extensions
One synthetic lash is attached to one natural lash with an adhesive that sets in the air. Classic work trains the core skills of the profession: isolation, precise placement and choosing the right length and curl for each client. In the Japanese technique the focus is on a light, neat, natural-looking result.
LED lash extensions
LED extensions use a special adhesive that sets only under the light of an LED lamp. The artist places the lash, then cures the glue with a short flash of light. Because the adhesive stays liquid until the artist cures it, there is more time to place each lash precisely, and the bond is set at once. Many clients with sensitive eyes find LED sets more comfortable. The technique requires the right lamp, the right adhesive and safe work with light, so it is taught as a separate course.
Which one first?
- No experience yet: start with classic. You learn the foundations that every other technique, LED included, builds on.
- Already working with classic lashes: an LED course adds a modern technique you can offer as a premium service.
- Not sure: tell us about your experience and goals, and we will suggest the right course.
What both courses have in common
In both you work on live models, in a small group, with a teacher who corrects your hands as you go. You finish with a certificate and a clear understanding of how to care for clients before and after a set.
